Most Common Questions

Q.  Can I get Glass Brick Panels already made ready to install ?

A. Yes , They can be Picked up or Delivered , we can  Pre Fabricate the Glass Brick Panels up to 30 bricks as this is the limit per frame as it becomes a weight issue. They can be bigger but will need to be discussed personally with our staff.

Q. Can I install these bricks myself ?

A. Yes , No Training is required as they are quite simple to install by following  the instructions that are very straight forward and the simplicity of it all makes it a breeze. However it takes practice to do the joints smooth / neat.

Q.  Can I get your company to install the Glass Brick Panels ?

A.  Yes we can install the Panels or arrange a Trades man to install the Panel.

Q.  What do I get in the Glass Brick D.I.Y Kit ?

A.  The Kit comes complete with the Frame , Bricks, PVC Horizontal spacer  ( H-80) and Vertical Spacers ( V-80) and tubes of silicon to complete the installation of the bricks.  All kits come with complete set of instructions.

Q.  What Tools do I need ?

A.  You will need to have the following , a Silicone Gun , Water Spray Bottle.

Q.  Do we do Fire Rated Glass Brick Panels ?

A.  Yes , We Specialize in this field and do all Sizes and Ratings and can assist with designing these as well.

Q.  Do we do Commercial jobs ?

A. Yes we do Commercial Jobs from 10 Bricks to 2,000 bricks or more - No Job too Big or Too Small we do the lot and pride our self at been the BEST in the business.

Q.  How do I receive my order ?

A.  Once your order is paid for it will leave our State of the Art Facility and Your order will be delivered in 2 – 3 days depending where your location is.

Q.  I already have the Glass Bricks , is it possible to just buy the installation kit ?

A.  Yes , you can but your bricks may be a different size to ours.

Q.  What is the size of our Glass Bricks ?

A.  They are 190mm x 190mm x 80mm.

Q.  What are the Bricks made from ?

A.  They are all made from quality GLASS  not plastic you wouldn’t put plastic windows in your building would you !    LOL.

Q.  Do The Glass Bricks Shrink or Expand ?

A.  Yes they do up to 2mm per Sq2 Meter , this is why the Glass Bricks are better laid in a silicone set up then using a mortar as the expanding and shrinkage will eventually cause the mortar to crack.

Q.  What is the difference between Glass Bricks and Glass Blocks ?

A. In we refer to them as Glass Bricks and Overseas refer to them as Glass Blocks.

Q.  Can I use the Glass Bricks in wet areas ?

A.   Yes and they are commonly used in bathrooms and  we use a anti mould silicone that is great and effective in combating the mould problems that occur in these typical wet areas.

Q.  What is a Reveal ?

A.  It’s a Timber Frame that the Aluminum Frame fits into to assist in the installation of were a window has being replaced or making it easier for the Gyprock or tiles to finished off with architraves or prepared for flush finish also. 

Q.  Do the Glass Bricks have any Insulation Factors ?

A.  Yes the Glass Bricks have a Insulation Factors as Glass Brick Panels are capable of doubling the insulation value that a single pane window provides.

Q.   Do Glass Bricks have any Energy Saving Qualities ?

A.  Glass Brick Panels are ideal in terms of energy savings. This is because of the fact that glass block windows are capable of reducing air infiltration since they are as airtight like an actual wall. This feature allows them to be an efficient low-emissive which is responsible in year round energy savings.

Q.  Do Glass Brick Panels have any Soundproofing Qualities ?

A.   The Glass Bricks offer superb Soundproofing qualities as they are like a double glazed window and not just a normal window.

Q. Can Glass Brick Panels have a Ventilation Option fitted to them ?

A.  Glass Brick Panels can provide natural ventilation similar to any traditional window. This is because like any typical window, they can be opened through various ways or options. One option is by replacing several blocks with a small hopper-style window which can be opened. This does not lessen the security purpose of glass block windows since the opening is actually too small for a person to crawl through.  

Q.  Are the Glass Bricks strong ?

A.  Yes they are as strong as bricks when the walls of them are a minimum of 6mm thick when only 190mm square that is very strong.

Q.  Do Glass Bricks add Security to premises?

A.  Yes and Great for first floor windows since they provide that extra security to thieves as compared to any normal window. Although breaking through a glass brick windows is possible with the use of a sledgehammer, it is quite impossible or a thief to actually attempt to do it. Its great to use at entry doors such as Front and Rear access including side doors , as that is where most thieves gain entry through smashing the side glass to reach in and unlock the door as such.

Q.  Why not use Plastic Bricks ?

A.  Answer is simple would you put plastic as your windows at home , No the reason is that they look cheap , scratch easy and  the clarity is awful and the bricks have no energy saving or sound proofing qualities as proper Glass Bricks which are basically the same price for Glass so you would go Glass bricks anyway.
